Follow the next couple days while we detail some of the information on the first time homebuyer's tax credit.
The maximum allowable credit is $8,000. The credit is equal to 10% of the purchase price of the home. The income limits are $75,000 for single buyers and $150,000 for married couples with incomes up to $150,000. The credit decreases for higher incomes, and eligibility is lost at $95,000 for single buyers and $170,000 for married couples.
